Brooks has applied its automation and cryogenics expertise to meet the sample storage needs of customers in the life sciences industry, through Brooks Life Sciences. Brooks Life Sciences offerings include a broad range of products and services for on-site infrastructure for sample management at temperatures of 20°C to -190°C, as well as comprehensive outsource service solutions across the complete life cycle of biological samples including collection, transporta-tion, processing, storage, protection, retrieval and disposal.

Manchester based RTS Life Science was acquired by Brooks Automation Inc in 2011. This was closely followed by the acquisition of Nexus Biosystems, incorporating Remp Sample Management and Aurora Biotechnologies, also in 2011. Since then Brooks Life Sciences has grown both organically and through further acquisitions of: Matrical Bioscience in 2013, FluidX Limited in 2014, Biostorage Technologies Inc. in 2015, Cool Lab LLC. in 2016, Pacific Biomaterial Management Inc. and 4titude Limited in 2017 and The GENEWIZ Group in 2018, and RURO Inc. in 2020.

Car: Manchester site is strategically located in the centre of the North West motorway network: accessible via M60 and the M6 motorway.

Train: Brooks is only a 5-minute walk from Irlam railway station, which is on the Manchester- Liverpool line. Train times can be checked on www.railtrack.co.uk.

Flight: Manchester Airport is located approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Brooks. There are daily direct flights to/from most major airports in Europe and the US. There are also frequent flights to London Heathrow for direct flights to most parts of the world.

Free Car Parking and Cycle storage facilities are available for all employees.

Manchester is a vibrant city full of culture and adventure, with the many bars, restaurants, theatres, art galleries and museums, Manchester really does have something for everyone. Manchester is home to world class football clubs so maybe a visit to the stadiums, or the National Football Museum.
