Work with a very senior engineering team and manufacturing operation in a public fast-growing collaborative robotics and controls company, to manage teams consisting of Ph.D. level software and servo engineers, machine vision engineers, digital electronics and firmware designers, and robot mechanical engineers to specify and develop new collaborative and mobile robots with integrated machine vision.
Job includes: working with engineering and marketing on new product specifications, developing new product HW and SW architectures for multi-axis robots, developing machine vision-based applications such as auto-teaching in workcells, and navigation of mobile robots, working with servo engineers on developing adaptive control algorithms and dynamic models of robots, working with electrical engineers on developing miniature controls that are embedded inside the robots, and developing and tracking project schedules and budgets. Also working with outside contractors for product packaging and aesthetic design.
Minimum MS or Ph.D. ME or EE with emphasis on controls.
Minimum 15 years’ experience with servo motors and motion control systems. Experience in program management and product development of complex systems.
Experience with agency and safety certification of automated systems a plus. Ability to understand digital control circuits and motor power drive circuits. Flexible attitude and willingness to work with in-house and contract manufacturers and dive in and solve customer problems when needed.
Comfortable with CAD tools and reading schematics and understanding electronic circuits.
Understanding of test instruments.
Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 9002 a plus.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision on a wide range of projects. Good interpersonal skills and track record of good performance with small teams. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
