The Business Analyst will work closely with the Product Management team, business stakeholders from varying departments, customers, partners, and locations to fully define business objectives. The Business Analyst will refine and expand existing high-level requirements, capture and document use cases, process flows, and provide input to the configuration process. They also work closely with the Manager, Product Management to ensure that the product configuration being done aligns with the product vision, strategic plan, and product roadmap.

With respect to the systems development life cycle (SDLC), the Business Analyst is responsible for analysing the business needs of stakeholders to identify and document business requirements, rules, propose solutions. They act in a liaison function between stakeholders and Informatics to elicit, analyse, communicate, and verify requirements regarding requested changes.

  • Lead the specification, scoping, and documentation of both current and future solutions.

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.

  • Ensure that requirements are captured at the appropriate level of detail so that the Product Configuration Specialists have what they need to efficiently perform their role.

  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers and business partners to analyse information needs into both functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

  • Manage vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Maintain confidentiality about systems software being developed or utilised.


  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 year’s experience, or Masters with 0-1 year’s, or its equivalent.

  • Proficient with standard software development project management processes (SDLC).

  • Proficient with MS Office Products and Visio (or similar tools).

  • Experience gathering and analyzing data.

  • Experience working with technical teams to close the gap between user and development needs.

  • Knowledge of FDA and GxP regulated environments.

  • Ability to work across the organisation.

  • Strong communication, organisation, and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to think creatively, takes initiative, and work independently.


  • 5+ years in a software business analyst role and/or strong scientific role background of 2+ years.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, technology, or scientific related field.

  • Business analyst with a software development background.

  • Computer systems validation experience.
