Overview

Responsible for the technical leadership of major robotics and automation development projects. Candidate will have technical expertise in electro-mechanical precision machine design with embedded  software and controls .

• Requirements include capability to complete static, dynamic, vibration, structural and thermal analysis. 
• Expert with bearing/motion component selection and design.
• Expertise in selecting motors, sensors and other electrical components used in robotics and automated machinery.
• Experience specifying SW and Controls requirements is a plus
• Experience with DFx including reliability and cost
• Proven capability to plan, manage and lead large development programs/projects.
• Experience selecting and working with key suppliers and outsource partners.
• Proven ability to develop new products from concept through production using a stage gate development process.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish aggressive goals. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Experience with Solid Modeling and Finite Element Analysis and MS Project required. Experience with ProE, Mechanica, Agile and Oracle preferred.

Required Experience
BSME (MSME preferred) and 10+ years in robotics or automated machine design including the integration of electronics, firmware and motion control. 

Must have demonstrated expertise in engineering fundamentals with 5+ years of project management and leadership experience.

Experience in semiconductor capital equipment or adjacent markets is preferred.


Senior Engineer responsible for applications engineering, development of new products/extensions and sustaining engineering on robots used for material handling in semiconductor and adjacent industries.

Candidate will have experience with configurable robotics or automated machinery using embedded controls (this is a plus).
• Applications Engineering
o Working with marketing, sales and customer on new robot opportunities
o Determine best products to work within customer requirements
o Define requirements specifications and develop engineering design specifications
o Meet with customers on DIW opportunities, issue resolution
o Occasional travel to customer to review application and opportunity
• Product Extensions and New Product Development
o Work with product management to define new product extension requirements per strategic plan and engineering design specifications
• Continuous Improvement
o Support and plan work for improving products
o Use quality data to determine CIP plans
o Sustaining engineering  - manage part obsolescence and supplier issues
o Lead cost reduction opportunities
• Project Engineering
o Responsible for generating project plans and working with program management on cross functional resources
o Responsible for determining resource requirements
o Manage and track engineering tasks

Required Skills
• Expertise in application of robotics used for automated material handling.
• System layout and throughput analysis experience
• Experience working on teams taking products from concept through production
• Experience working directly with customers with applications of highly technical and complex products
• Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Experience with Solid Modeling and Finite Element Analysis and MS Project required. Experience with ProE, Mechanica, Agile and Oracle preferred.
