In this role, you will lead the transportation, distribution and global trade compliance function, including the contracting, execution, and performance of all inbound, interplant, and outbound freight. This will also include ensuing trade compliance accuracy and consistency. You will be responsible for establishing strategies, plans and processes to ensure the Company meets compliance standards, delivering cost savings, and strengthening the effectiveness of compliance and transportation relationships with internal and external customers.  You will work closely with the senior leadership team as well as all team members to ensure that global transportation activities are fully aligned to support the organization’s business strategy and plan.  You will build a network of strategic partners and own all transportation policies and procedures. The Director of Global Logistics directs and manages all Warehouse & Distribution Center activities to include shipping, fulfillment, receiving of raw materials and finished goods, inventory, transportation network and oversees 3PL locations globally.  This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead Brooks’ transportation services to include carrier selection, price negotiations, performance levels and cost management for all modes; domestic and international ensuring adherence to all transportation regulatory laws and guidelines
  • Ensure trade compliance adherence and the maintenance of participating trade programs including but not limited to the duty drawback program
  • Update business partners and senior leaders with industry trends – operational & financial
  • Communicate global trade implications based on country of origin and tariff rules and regulations to business partners and senior leaders
  • Provide financial guidance on transportation & trade costs to the organization throughout the year
  • Introduce and promote best practices related to transportation, direct distribution, indirect distribution and global trade compliance
  • Partner with key stakeholders including manufacturing, supply chain, and the commercial teams to drive continuous improvement and provide the highest level of service at a competitive price
  • Drive Operational Excellence, Execution, and Continuous Improvement such that improvement in warehouse operation yields documented and measured improvements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory


  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • US Customs Broker license preferred
  • Fifteen or more years’ experience in import/export compliance related to Manufacturing
  • Fifteen or more years’ progressive experience in Transportation, Logistics, and/or Distribution management with multiple locations
  • Adept at negotiating carrier, customer brokers and logistics provider contracts
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multifaceted, complex situations, problems, and concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with individuals of all levels
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and change priorities and direction as needed, allowing for optimum effectiveness
