Brooks Life Sciences is an innovative and rapidly growing life sciences company. We are a global leader of comprehensive sample management solutions providing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic customers with complete end-to-end “cold-chain of custody” solutions to advance scientific research and support drug development.

Our Consumables and Instruments business units seeks a Global Product Manager who will focus on developing strong and immediately executable strategies for our Instrument portfolio. The role will be responsible for delivering on our product strategy for our sealing, de-sealing, direct marking and labelling instruments. Successful candidates will have familiarity with automation, high-throughput screening, PCR, NGS and clinical applications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver on the Product Strategy, including product development and commercialization
  • Maintain and develop the roadmap and lifecycle management for the range
  • Follow Brooks Product Development and Introduction (PDI) model for developing and improving products
  • Partner collaboratively with sales and marketing to ensure appropriate content and marketing collateral is being produced
  • Producing business cases for product opportunities as a basis for investment 
  • Develop product positioning statements for target market segments
  • Define and sustain differentiation amongst competing products
  • Define the pricing strategy to ensure pricing is appropriate and is delivering on margin and revenue goals
  • Maintain a business intelligence database for the product portfolio
  • Develop and maintain key metrics to measure success in all responsible areas
  • Actively champion and demonstrate the Brooks Values of Customer Focus, Achievement, Teamwork, Accountability, Employee Value, and Integrity in all activities

Position Requirements

  • BSc in engineering or life sciences with Product Management experience  
  • Strong leadership, scientific, project management, and business development skills coupled with the ability to work with global and remote teams
  • Strong understanding of automation, high-throughput screening, PCR and NGS applications
  • Strong scientific and business acumen, with a demonstrated history of managing new and fast-growing products or services
  • Ability to engage with customers and translate scientific VOC into business ventures
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally throughout a matrix-organisation, leveraging soft skills to communicate and lead through influence
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • The ability to evaluate new market opportunities
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
