US Sales Director

Job Summary:

Brooks Life Sciences Products Division is seeking a Sales Director for our Consumables and Instruments (C&I) area responsible for the overall sales strategies and results in the United States region.  Consumables represents high growth opportunities for the Company and requires a focused team and successful sales strategies to achieve top line objectives. This position will have ownership for the total team sales objective for U.S. sales for all C&I offerings. The position will serve as a member of the global C&I sales leadership team and will participate (with executive leadership) in the development of a targeted, aligned sales strategy.

The role will deliver growth and long-term client base from U.S. based clients. The Sales Director will have several direct reports (Regional Managers and Sales Managers) each assisting in achieving sales objectives and providing market feedback to the Company.  The role will conduct all facets of strategy, planning, forecasting, hiring, and individual/team performance management.  It will also interact with crucial support functions to assist in driving sales success (marketing, operations, and all other sales teams across company product lines and geographies).

Responsibilities

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manages and directs the day-to-day sales activities of the team and other sales support staff in assigned region(s).
• Measures, analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of team members to determine progress toward achieving established goals and objectives and takes appropriate corrective action when necessary to ensure the achievement of quarterly and annual sales goals.
• Directs and monitors effective employee recruitment, staffing, coaching, and communications programs for representatives
• Directly responsible for meeting or exceeding annual and quarterly growth targets and objectives.
• Develops and prepares business plan for their region of responsibility and monitors ongoing performance to plan compliance
• Directs the sale of the services and solutions of the company through a variety of sales methods including but not limited to telesales, face to face meetings and trade shows.
• Organization and assignment of U.S. based C&I accounts as appropriate
• Organization and distribution of team target (quota) objectives
• Feedback and participation (with executive team) in building and refining the strategic sales plan.
• Coordination of sales team with sales operations to facilitate all client deliverables.
• Review market analysis to determine customer/segment needs and pricing. Also, provide competitive/market information to support functions.
• Drive compliance and utilization to standardized expectations in the management and maintenance of a customer lead database within SFDC.
• To attend internal and external training in cases where it may benefit the team to have increased knowledge.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred
• 6+ years' experience in sales leadership is required with a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ experience with a Master’s degree; 10+ years’ experience preferred
• Proven management experience within a sales environment preferably in life sciences or healthcare
