In support of Brooks Semiconductor Service organization, develops and conducts technical training courses for customers and Brooks team members, in the use of complex situations for multiple products. Interacts with customer and functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses. Prepares lesson plans/curricula from multiple sources such as engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation. Works cross functionally with groups and functions such as engineering, technical support and manufacturing to ensure that course material reflects current product features. Instructs participants in virtual / remote training using smart wear devices as additional option the traditional classroom lectures and laboratory sessions. Follows up to determine applicability of course material based on new engineering releases and findings, Quality failure reports, failure data and reliability data, and Manufacturing / Repair methods.
We are looking for a Technical Curriculum Developer / Instructor with 7-10 years experience at our Fremont, CA facility to help shape and expand our Technical Training program.
The technical training group provides instruction to Brooks Automation service teams and customers for many semiconductor products. Classes range from product introduction to installation, operation, detailed maintenance and complex troubleshooting to determine best path to resolution. Training programs will captured in defined tiers, but can also be tailored for specific audiences, and can run for a few days to a few weeks, depending on scope and complexity.
The candidate will establish the vision and strategy for the next generation of product training employing various methods to improve learning and retention; including classroom, hands-on, CBT, eLearning and gamification. The successful candidate will handle both tactical and strategic activities and needs to be adept technically, strong operationally, collaborative in nature, and skilled at project management. Technical Bachelor’s degree preferred or non-technical Bachelor’s degree required.
This is a global role, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to interact with the product, service, applications, engineering teams and our customers.
Design and create curriculum content including courses/modules and materials/aids to be used by the training facilitators and/or instructors and training participants.
Set learning objectives for each course and determine evaluation criteria
Deliver training, and see the direct impact of the course developed.
Follow up with trainees and instructors after each course and collect feedback
Design and implement a certification program to ensure a high level of competency and consistency
