The Cryo Solutions group within Brooks Life Sciences is a small, diverse team developing leading-edge, end-to-end “cold-chain of custody” cryogenic automation and instrumentation solutions to advance scientific research and bring forth new medicines and therapies around the world.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager with a proven track record developing and managing world-class products and the passion to innovate new products that will continue to make a difference in the life science industry.

The Technical Product Manager will direct the development of company technical market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s), including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricing. You will monitor the development of business plans and product positioning in the marketplace and will reduce broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing requirements plans. You will oversee market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs as well as establishes pricing strategies. This role interacts with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, and Sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s) and leads new product definition and business plans with joint departments to deliver winning products.

As a Technical Product Manager, you will be working with a global team of Sales, Marketing, and Service members to exceed revenue and customer satisfaction goals. Working collaboratively with Executive Management, you will define and implement the product vision while ensuring product and marketing efforts support Brook’s Life Sciences overall strategy and goals. You will become an expert in the competitive marketplace, product differentiation, product development and operating processes.

Key focus areas:

New Product Development

  • Gathering product requirements and voice-of-customer, prioritizing feature implementations, evaluating competitive product / market and improving overall user experience
  • Analyze market trends, technologies, and competition to position products
  • Business case development and return on investment calculations on projects
  • New product development gated processes and workflows
  • Technical and customer feedback on new product development and customer needs
  • Work with cross functional teams to manage product lifecycle
  • Product launch programs – internal, external, and post-launch activities for effective and productive results
  • Act as a key representative of the business for the assigned product responsibility during development as the functional requirements are developed

Product Management

  • Translate technical details into applicable customer benefits
  • Effective prioritization of features that align with the best possible user and company value
  • Work with various teams (Sales, Engineering, Service, Customer Care, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Quality) to implement growth strategies
  • Product portfolio strategies to prioritize and advocate for product line needs
  • Support Marketing & Sales teams with the creation of sales tools, content creation, and overall product marketing plan to drive achievement of annual sales growth
  • Tracking of project initiatives and deliverables. Tracking and metrics to achieve results
  • Analyze business results, including financial, customer, and internal process metrics, and monitor metrics and develop actionable insights to improve the efficiency and performance of the product
  • Respond to end-customer inquiries and recommend escalations, if needed, to ensure timely resolution and quality control
  • Provide product demonstrations, as needed, to Customers, Sales, and Service
  • Hustle and problem solve as we pioneer a rapidly growing, nascent industry

Candidate qualifications / education/ experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, life science or related discipline; Advanced Degree desirable
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, marketing, or technical sales preferably within the life sciences, healthcare, or medical device industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of FDA Quality System Regulation (ISO 13485) and EU Medical Device Regulation strongly desired

Relevant additional requirements:

  • Fluent with MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint
  • Solid oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to other stakeholders in different functions at various levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to function effectively and tactfully with multiple departments and personnel, able to gain consensus and commitment
  • Ability to independently translate complex ideas and provide accurate and easily understood resolutions to a variety of problems
  • A natural interest in mechanical and technical systems
