This role is a key member of the finance team and partner in all payroll and equity plan functions. This role will report directly to the Sr. Payroll Manager and will assist with all company payroll operations to successfully complete biweekly payroll. Oversee the full stock plan administration cycle in partnership with Finance, Legal and Human Resources. Utilize your problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail to produce deliverables and calculations that are high quality and accurate.


  • Participate in biweekly payroll processing for hybrid inhouse/outsourced model of multi-state payroll (exempt & non-exempt) via Workday for approximately 1400 employees providing verification and support to payroll administrator.
  • Handle escalated employee payroll related questions and concerns from managers.
  • Review post-payroll activities such as vendor integrations, general ledger postings, bank funding, and reconciliation activities.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure successful quarterly payroll and equity audits. Participate in other payroll related audits, including annual 401(k) and workers’ compensation.  
  • Oversee development of payroll process and procedure documentation and training documentation.
  • Act as a resource within payroll and to other departments and outside vendors regarding general payroll processes, payroll taxes, equity plans, retirement contributions, benefit deductions, unemployment insurance and commissions.

Payroll Accounting/Tax

  • Perform accounting/general ledger functions as it relates to payroll compensation, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and other month-end close functions.
  • Review all quarterly and annual tax filings prepared by vendor, including W-2 forms, addressing any exceptions and errors prior to finalization.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance requirements including state and local tax registrations.


  • Act as a Global Equity Administration expert to participants, internal and external stakeholders, and respond to inquiries and requests regarding equity programs and grants.
  • Work with outside vendor to manage ETRADE/Equity Edge Online platform to process equity grants and releases, manage daily foreign disbursement wires, and track BOD activity in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of relevant payroll tax withholdings and maintain data between Workday and EEO.  
  • Provide global program administration for Employee Stock Purchase Program for two annual offering periods.

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires 5+ years of Payroll experience to include expertise with Workday Payroll; and a minimum of 1 year stock administration experience, preferably with Equity Edge Online.
  • Working knowledge of Workday Payroll, Reporting, Time Tracking, GL and Expense modules. Experience with Workday Integrations and project management of releases a plus.
  • Knowledge of multi-state and federal labor laws, pay practices and policies.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required
