Responsibilities include material and inventory control of Brooks Global service spares hubs. Oversees the planning, coordinating and controlling of global spare parts and hub inventory within global customer service. Ensures customer requirements are met with regards to on time delivery to entitlements. Develops and implements control systems. Coordinates activity with internal and external counterparts. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


The Global Inventory Manager will be responsible for spares and inventory management activities within the Brooks’ Global Service organization. This covers all aspects of the service business including supply chain planning, field repair, tool down response, spares sales, customer exchange and service agreements.

This role will be responsible for budgeting, coordinating and inventory planning in accordance with service entitlements, optimization and control; materials management; distribution and warehousing operations; delivery of required customer service levels; and continuous improvement initiatives against key metrics for all these areas.

This position will ensure tight supply/demand alignment, timely material delivery and crisp communication of issues. This position also requires working closely with cross-functional partners in Operations, Product Development, Sales, Field Service and Product Management to ensure that Brooks’ total needs are clearly defined. This Manager will lead a team of business level stakeholders in all service planning and execution activities, with the objective of measuring, improving and driving performance to levels required by Brooks Global Services strategic plan.

Job Duties:

Develop and implement inventory plans in accordance with global policies and strategies, to deliver the optimum balance of inventory level and customer service.

Manage and develop a team of service planners - directly and indirectly - Inventory planners & order administrators, warehouse personnel, and 3PL partners where applicable.

Manage and minimize Excess & Obsolete inventory and write-offs.

Define, drive or support inventory reduction programs, ensuring effective operational control and managing physical inventory controls and counts

Measure and monitor supply chain performance using a variety of metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives and escalations as needed.

Ensure visibility of forward demand to key players in the supply chain; monitor forward material availability vs plan / fill rates and act as needed to address any gaps.

Ensure the personal safety of the team and all parties who interact with the team.

Required skills: 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years’ experience in logistics and/or operations management.  

Ability to communicate effectively across functions, regions and countries

Ability to forge effective, influential and collaborative cross function relationships, including Executive Staff members. 

Continuous improvement mindset and drive.

Aptitude for simplifying, improving and strengthening business processes and systems.

Knowledge of supply chain principles and methodologies and track record effective deployment.

Metric driven, results oriented manager.

Ability to develop and lead an international team.

Ability to travel internationally approximately 25% of time.
