Overview

Objective:  Support Engineering Cross-Functional teams to exceed customer expectations while delivering high quality, robust and cost-effective design of the highly reliable electro-mechanical products for high vacuum and cleanroom applications for the semiconductor and adjacent equipment industries. Minimize risk to overall project through detailed schedule and tracking of resource loading.

This position requires managing cross-functional engineering teams through Design in Win (DIW), Customized Products (CusP), Continues Improvement Programs (CIP) and New Product Development (NPD) projects focused on delivery of a product through the design process into a finished state ready for external and internal customers. Develop detailed project plans including engineering tasks schedules, resource loading and project budgets. Guide the projects to deliver on the engineering millstones and report the status.  Participate in the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the projects on schedule and within budget constraints.

The required skills are persistence in meeting goals coupled with flexibility to find a path around obstacles and the ability to keep the team focused on meeting the customer’s expectations.  A high level of organization is required to schedule and track the many details of multiple projects simultaneously.  The individual needs to be a process champion to ensure projects are not only completed but also that the resulting products are robust by ensuring completion of necessary process steps.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Modify Schedules to maintain level loading of Engineering resources
  • Translate ROM Scoped effort into Engineering tasks
  • Attain approval for Engineering Schedules
  • Hold Kick-Off Meetings to align Engineering resources to milestones
  • Lead Engineering team to accomplish milestones per commitments
  • Report out on Engineering Milestones Status weekly
  • Provide Status Updates
  • Re-align project/program activity to address pull in requests
  • Meet with Engineering Resource Managers to align resources to projects
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks to projects success
  • Support R & O Forecasts and Escalations
  • Define Engineering Cross-Functional Team Members for all Projects
  • Hold status meetings for larger projects that need more oversight and support
  • Report out on engineering Milestones/Tasks Status weekly
  • Work with Product Management and Engineering to locate needed Equipment
  • Monitor ECs to eliminate bottlenecks that impact Milestones
  • Attend design reviews ensuring meeting specifications, no missed items and adding any new uncovered scope
  • Manage Tech Pubs deliverables coordinating reviews and releases
  • Record and Track Engineering action items that are too small for projects
